GSA is a club that revolves around normalizing and accepting different sexualities and changes in pronouns to make the school environment safer for lgbtq+ students throughout Chaminade.  This club is made up of five staff

GSA (Gryphons Supporting Acceptance)

Safe & Accepting Schools

In this club we focus on making the school environment a safer place for all students.  This club is run by two teachers, Ms. Covello and Ms. Tassone.  As a club we promote things such as anti-bullying, being respectful to others, picking up litter off of the ground (#Chaminade Cares), and

members and six students.  Our club motivates queer students to be proud of who they are and also grows the amount of lgbtq+ allies within our school community.  The most recent event GSA has hosted was the gingerbread house building contest.  This was held just to bring attention to the club.

donating to food drives.  The most recent event that we held was anti-bullying week.  Everyday from November 22 to November 26 we promoted anti-bullying in a variety of ways.  Some of the things we did was Donut-be-a-Bully, we sold doughnuts for $1 to remind people to prevent bullying.  We also made an anti-bullying pledge that students could sign.

Chaminade Players (Drama Club)

The Chaminade Players is a very talented, creative group of people.  We are a drama club run by Mr. Costa and two other Chaminade Alumni.  In this club we produce plays and short films for our enjoyment.  Although I have yet to act in this club I am enjoying myself as a crew member.  So far I have been a part of producing one short film.  Helping with audio, building sets, and even socializing with other crew members has been a part of what I have done so far.  For me this club is something I look forward to attending every Saturday morning.  I have never really found interest in looking for a career related to acting but I still enjoy delving into the world of drama.

Sports

I may not be on a sports team currently but that does not mean that I do not play sports for fun.  Some of the sports I play most often are soccer, volleyball, and badminton.  I am mostly decent at these sports and enjoy playing them.  In the summer, spring, and fall I play these sports the most.  Although I do have some athletic ability I am not on a sports team currently.  Swimming is a sport that I enjoy too.  In the summer I go to community centres and water parks and train my swimming ability.  The two sports that I competed in, in my late elementary school years was cross country and track & field.  I ran cross country in Grade 6 & 7 and made it to the regionals twice. Unfortunately, both times I did not qualify for cities.  I participated in track & field in Grade 6 relay and got second place.
